WHAT IS ALL THIS?

WHAT IS SILK PAINTING?
Silk painting is a very satisfying and forgiving art form in which the artists uses dyes to paint onto a silk garment. The artist creates a design using was, then paints between the lines to create their piece. Below are links to various resources explaining just what silk painting is and how it's done. For details about the particular experience in my studio, please see the "What to expect" page on this website.

ALCOHOL INKS
One of the additional options I have in the studio is alcohol ink decoration. We often will do some of this while the wax is drying on the silk we are going to paint. Here you can learn about that fun and satisfying medium! I have tile available for making a coaster, and switch plate covers to decorate. If you have a particular item that is non-porous that you would like to decorate with alcohol inks, bring it along!

SILK FACE MASKS
Recently one of my friends/patrons, brought her own silk mask to paint and it turned out so beautifully that I decided to add it to the offerings in the studio! If you have other silk items you would like to paint, bring them along or ask me to order them ahead of time and let's have some fun!
